All our planters are produced in moulded foam (EPS).
EPS is extracted from oil. In its raw state EPS bead contains an expansion agent (below 4% content) which is a pure hydrocarbon. As a finished moulded part, it is 98% air.
EPS is durable, protective, lightweight, insulating and versatile. It is moisture-resistant, odourless and non-toxic. The manufacture and use of EPS does not generate any risk to health or to the environment.
EPS parts can be reused, recycled and recovered.
Reuse
Our products are durable, but once at the end of their useful life could be

ground and used as soil conditioner to improve drainage and aeration.They could also be broken up to provide drainage in other containers.
Recycle
Used EPS can be reprocessed to make a new material. Examples are hardwood replacements for garden furniture, slate replacement for roof tiles, coat hangers and CD cases.
Recover
EPS has a very high calorific value and can be safely burned in incinerators or energy recovery units without emitting toxic or environmentally damaging fumes. |
